Since 1998, BAST holds an activity of ‘Academic Month for Scientific and Technological Communication in Beijing’ (shortened for Academic Month). Every autumn, BAST organizes scientific and technological staff in Beijing to carry out a series of high-level domestic and international academic communications concerning a specific subject within a month. This activity has great influence and has been lasting for 15 years.

　　In the last 15 years, with the support of Beijing Party committee and Beijing government, and with active cooperation and extensive participation of scientific and technological staff in Beijing, Academic Month plays a positive role in science and technology prosperity of the capital, in promoting interdisciplinary penetration and fusing, in raising level and quality of academic communication, in promoting scientific and technological innovations and growth of talents, and in promoting comprehensive, harmonious and sustainable development of science and technology, economy, and society. Upon 15-years hard work, Academic Month for Scientific and Technological Communication in Beijing, as a high-level academic communication forum with more and more influence and attractions, has become a star activity for academic communication in the capital.
