The Universities Science Innovation Fair is jointly held by Beijing Association for Science and Technology, Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Beijing Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, China Communist Youth League Beijing Committee, Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park, Beijing Municipal Intellectual Property Office and Beijing Federation of Industry and Commerce. The Fair aims to implement the capital innovation-driven development strategy, promote the growth of innovative scientific and technological talents of teachers and students from universities and colleges, arouse their enthusiasm for innovation and entrepreneurship, promote the industrialization of their scientific and technological innovation achievements, guide the direction of innovation and entrepreneurship of students, and thus gradually establish a professional service platform and create a good environment of innovation for the pool of innovative scientific and technological talents in universities and colleges.

Since its launch in 2012, it has been successfully held for eight sessions, attracting 85 universities in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei area including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Beihang University, Tianjin University, etc., and more than 400 enterprises and investment institutions participating in the Fair. Up to now, 5000 pieces of innovative achievements were collected, 85 Innovation Gold Awards were selected and dozens of project cooperation contracts were concluded. After continuous exploration and efforts, this fair currently includes two regular events: Campus Trip for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Training Camp of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The latter provides closed training and guidance for outstanding representatives of innovation and entrepreneurship from colleges and universities in summer vacation.
