On September 21 and 22, 2020, Beijing Research Institute of Science & Technology Education Innovation Artificial Intelligence Top Teacher Studio held a special event with the theme of "Science & Technology Energization" during the 10th Beijing Science Carnival, in which, by expert sharing, theme scene displaying, artificial intelligence workshop hosting and other forms, the new concept of artificial intelligence education application was explained and the new cases of deep integration of science & technology and education were shared. There were frontline science & technology teachers from more than 20 schools such as Capital Normal University High School, Beijing No.13 High School, Beijing No.171 High School and Beijing Hepingjie No.1 Middle School having attended this event.
The special event opened in the morning on September 21. Liu Ran, Vice Director of Beijing Youth Science Center, attended the event and made a speech. Thereafter, Yang Yi, a professor of Beijing Institute of Technology, Huang Mingxi, Deputy Secretary General of Weisheng Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, Xiao Haiming, a member of Peking University Learning Science Laboratory Research Group, Zhao Tianzhe, Tencent Artificial Intelligence Senior Teaching and Research Manager, and Cheng Chen, Person in Charge of China Professional Maker Union shared their experience separately. The theme of sharing covered the aspects of education thinking cultivation, innovation ability improvement, basic teaching planning and education industry development in the field of artificial intelligence. In the round table session, the experts focused on how to make science and technology better energize maker education, and gave specific suggestions on how to improve science and technology teachers' scientific thinking and teaching philosophy.
In order to implement the double upgrade of both the concept and the practice of science popularization, the Top Teacher Studio specially held artificial intelligence workshops with the themes of course design, open source hardware, image recognition and algorithm programming so as to improve the relevant ability of science and technology teachers and popularize artificial intelligence technology and culture through hands-on practice.
In the future, Artificial Intelligence Top Teacher Studio will continue to provide more study, display and communication platforms for teachers of science and technology, popularize hot frontier technology of artificial intelligence, publicize the teaching experience of related courses of primary schools, secondary schools as well as colleges and universities, highlight the dissemination of scientific thinking methods, focus on scientific thinking method research and promote the ability of teachers of science and technology in artificial intelligence and robotics education in Beijing area.
