On the afternoon of January 8, 2021, BAST held the 2021 proposals symposium, chaired by standing committee member of Municipal People’s Political Consultative Conference, and member of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Vice President of BAST Tian Wen, and attended by members of MPPCC representing associations for science and technology Wang Rufang, Yang Weilan, Li Xuehong, Yang Bogang, Liu Huaping, Zhu Yeping and Qu Feng.
The meeting announced the priorities of CAST entities for 2020 and meeting participants seriously discussed and deliberated sector-specific proposals to be submitted. Encompassing the priorities across the city, committee members exchanged thoughts and opinions regarding personal proposals and raised the direction for submitting proposals.
Tian Wen pointed out at the meeting that BAST entities conducted extensive activities in the past year and especially yielded positive results in terms of construction of sector-specific committee member studios of the MPPCC which were fully recognized by the MPPCC, an achievement that is closely associated with the generous support and participation of all committee members and would be impossible without the generous support of BAST as the carrier. In 2021, committee members are expected to continue as always to extensively conduct learning, survey and research activities, faithfully perform the functions of political consultation, democratic supervision and participation in the deliberation and administration of state affairs, and play a positive role in the high-quality development and construction of the capital city as an international sci-tech innovation center in the new year.
Related personnel of the Department for Research and Publicity of BAST attended the meeting as nonvoting delegates.
