On January 20, Secretary of Leading Party Members’ Group of BAST Shen Jie and her colleagues visited Software Engineering Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences for a field survey. Both sides had a deep discussion about serving S&T workers, creating an innovation ecosystem, constructing corporate branches of BAST, increasing science literacy of citizens and corporate innovation in science and technology. Class-1 inspector of BAST Yue Hongzhi, and Secretary of Party Committee and Chairman of SEC Feng Xuhui took part in the panel discussion. 

Yue Hongzhi introduced basic details about Beijing Association for Science and Technology. Deputy General Manager of SEC Wang Shuzhi introduced SEC and its business operations. 

Shen Jie said the purpose of this visit is to understand and solicit input and suggestions from the centrally-run scientific research institutes and S&T workers about various activities of BAST, strengthen bilateral exchanges and cooperation and jointly explore the effective ways to serve S&T workers and support scientific and technological innovation. BAST always focuses on S&T workers, extensively conducts academic, science popularization and think tank activities, and actively builds warm, credible, vibrant and productive homes away from home for S&T workers. BAST expects SEC to give full play to its advantages to actively drive the establishment of an association for science and technology, participate in various activities of BAST and extensively unite and serve more S&T workers and tech companies. 

Feng Xuhui expressed warm welcome to the visiting delegation from BAST on behalf of SEC, fully expectant of greater cooperation and exchanges with BAST and jointly serving S&T workers by establishing corporate branches of BAST.
