On January 27, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group of BAST Shen Jie and her colleagues visited Beijing Electronics Holdings Co., Ltd for a field survey. Both sides engaged in deep exchanges surrounding S&T innovation services, the construction of corporate branches of BAST and the establishment of corporate academician workstations. Member of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Vice President of BAST Meng Fanxing, Secretary of Party Committee and Chairman of BEHC Wang Yan, and Deputy Secretary of Party Committee and CEO Pan Jinfeng took part in the discussion. 

BEHC introduced its overall structure, technological innovation and core strategies for the “14th five-year” plan period, as well as its long-term objective of becoming a world-class electronic information business group by 2035. BAST introduced how it serves scientific and technological innovation. 

Wang Yan thanked BAST for multiyear support and help on behalf of BEHC, fully expectant of greater exchanges and cooperation with BAST and joint efforts to serve S&T workers and scientific and technological innovation. 

 Shen Jie said the purpose of this visit is to understand municipal high-tech companies’ needs for BAST’s assistance in technological innovation and solicit input and suggestions. As a mass organization and political organization under the leadership of the municipal Party committee and a constituent unit and separate sector of the municipal committee of CPPCC, BAST always works on learned societies, science popularization and think tanks, leverages its unique strengths as a mass organization in serving technological innovation, increasing science literacy nationwide, reflecting appeals of S&T workers and recommending talented scientists and technologists, especially in selecting outstanding engineers, driving the construction of S&T innovation consortiums and strengthening international S&T cooperation and exchanges, all in a bid to create warm, credible, vibrant and productive homes of S&T workers. BAST expects to deepen exchanges and cooperation with BEHC by establishing corporate branches of BAST and academician workstations at BEHC so as to jointly explore the effective ways to complete the scientific, technological and industrial circles for an integrated circuit for resolving “neck-choking” obstacles to China’s IC industry.
