Recently, the 2nd Science Fiction Planet Award (hereinafter referred to as the "Award") started its call for submissions. As an important part of the China Science Fiction Convention, the Award provides a display and exchange platform for the science fiction industries in China and other countries.

The Award this year is open for submissions from enterprises, institutions, universities, groups and individuals in the science fiction field around the globe, and features four categories: Technology Award, Literature Award, Work Award and Outstanding Contribution Award. The total amount of prizes will be CNY 6.65 million, while the maximum amount for one prize is CNY 1 million.

The Technology Award includes three subcategories, namely the Best Science Fiction Creation Technology Award, the Best Science Fiction Experience Technology Award, and the Best Science Fiction Product Innovation Award.

The Literature Award is open for the submitted science fiction novels that were first published globally between October 1, 2021 and September 30, 2023. Its subcategories include awards for the best science fiction long, medium and short stories.

The Work Award features three categories, including the Best Science Fiction Movie, the Best Science Fiction Drama Series, and the Best Science Fiction Enlightening Work.

The Outstanding Contribution Award is aimed at rewarding individuals or groups who have achieved outstanding results in the construction of science fiction clubs, the cultivation of talented minds for science fiction education, and the dissemination of Chinese science fiction works and culture.

The solicitation is carried out through nomination and selection, as well as application, followed by initial review and secondary review, with all these procedures expected to be completed by the end of the year, and the final and award ceremony will be held in 2024.
