Prof. Li Jinghai, male, ethnic Han, was born in Shanxi Province in 1956. He is a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC), a PhD in engineering, a researcher and an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He serves as a member of the Leading Party Members Group of the Ministry of Science and Technology, director and secretary of the Leading Party Members Group of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a member of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, deputy director of the Education, Science, Culture and Public Health Committee under the National People’s Congress.

He worked as the former vice president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the vice president of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), the vice president of the International Science Council, and the president of the Association of Academies of Sciences in Asia.

In July 2022, Li Jinghai was elected President of the 10th Committee of the Beijing Association for Science and Technology (BAST).
