The ISC is proud to be hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) for the Beijing Science Dialogue and second ISC Midterm Membership Meeting. The events will bring together the representatives of more than 250 science organizations around the world and in all domains of science, together with partners and guests, to discuss and set agendas for international scientific collaboration around the headline theme of ‘Science in a complex world – Science for a better future’.

Day 1, 19 Oct:

Registration

Pre-meeting forum/workshops (morning, early afternoon)

Beijing Science Dialogue opening ceremony (15:00 – 17:30)

Day 2, 20 Oct:

Beijing Science Dialogue, satellite science symposia (all day). Indicative themes:

Space Science, Life Sciences & Biomedicine, Chemistry & New Energy, Geo-sciences & Urban Sustainability, Optics & Microelectronics, Scientific Data & Disaster Risk Reduction, Science & Society, AI & Global Governance, Scientific Responsibility & Social Co-governance, Food Technology & Better Living, Other sessions TBD

Day 3, 21 Oct:

Beijing Science Dialogue, plenary science day (all day)

Closing ceremony, with Beijing Declaration

Day 4, 22 Oct:

ISC Members meetings (by category of member) and other side meetings (morning)

ISC closed membership meeting (mid-morning onwards)

Day 5, 23 Oct:

ISC closed membership meeting (cont., morning only)

Governing Board meeting, possibility for other meetings, networking.

Day 6, 24 Oct:

Science and cultural tour
