The 2026 Chinese Academy of Sciences Public Science Day kicked off on May 16. As one of the core venues of the open day, the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) not only showcased China’s independent innovation capabilities in the fields of particle physics and nuclear physics, but also ignited young people’s passion for exploring fundamental science through immersive science popularization experiences. IHEP opened major scientific facilities, including the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPC) and the Beijing Spectrometer III (BESIII), to the public, allowing visitors to experience cutting-edge technology up close.
