According to the Report, since 2020, Beijing has continuously promoted the "Esports Beijing" initiative, which has gradually yielded results over the past five years. With its strong infrastructure and comprehensive urban services, Beijing provides a fertile environment for the rapid growth of esports.
The Report highlights that China boasts a massive esports user, with globally leading awareness and endorsement of the Esports World Cup. China is also home to the largest number of headquarters of esports copyright holders worldwide, making it a unique "supermarket" in the global esports industry.
The Report is based on online surveys and media big data from 18 countries and regions worldwide, as well as 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in China. It constructs an "Esports City Influence" index system that includes dimensions such as industry scale, infrastructure, and cultural influence, to assess major global esports cities comprehensively. The findings fully demonstrate the strong driving force of esports in advancing global digital culture and socio-economic development, providing strong evidence for China's leading position and vast potential in the global esports market. This series of reports has been published for eight consecutive years.
