Experts and scholars from across Eurasia convened at the Donghu International Center in Chaoyang District, Beijing on Sep 21 for the Eurasia International Quantum Science Cooperation and Science Popularization Dialogue, aiming to foster collaboration and share the latest advancements in this cutting-edge field.
The event was held under the theme "Science Popularization Connecting the World, Quantum Leading the Future." Hosted by the Beijing International Exchange Association (BIEA), supported by the Beijing Association for Science and Technology (BAST) and co‑organized by the All‑Russian Science Festival, the dialogue attracted over 40 on‑site participants and more than 4,000 online viewers.
Opening remarks underscored quantum science's growing role in fostering international collaboration and expanding public engagement with science. Following the remarks, participants jointly launched the Emerging Technology Exploration and International Science Popularization Initiative, signaling a shared commitment to cross-border scientific exchange.

The main session featured presentations from three distinguished Eurasian experts. Prof. Leonid Gusev, vice‑rector of Moscow State University and Chair of the All‑Russian Science Festival, reviewed the festival's experience in engaging youth and offered takeaways for international popular science events. Dr Zhou Lai, an associate researcher at the Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences, outlined recent progress in quantum communication and prospects for a future quantum internet, highlighting potential applications in secure information transmission. Parvin Muminov, a project manager at the UN Development Programme in Tajikistan, presented on the innovative applications of quantum science in enhancing green energy efficiency for sustainable development.
The event comes as quantum technology is increasingly seen as a critical frontier in a new global scientific and industrial revolution, with profound implications for information transmission, energy utilization, and social development. BIEA's partnership with the All-Russian Science Festival aims to strengthen Eurasia‑wide collaboration in science outreach and connect communities through popular science while looking to a quantum‑enabled future.
